A large number of CGIS study abroad programs offer optional internships in a wide variety of industries. Students on internships through CGIS spend a number of hours each week working in a carefully vetted professional placement and earn academic credit for participating in an internship seminar that contextualizes the local work culture, explores differences between it and the American workplace culture, and helps develop the skills necessary to work most effectively across cultural differences.
Specific internship placements vary by program. Students can learn more about typical internship fields for each program by exploring program pages on MCompass or reaching out to that program's CGIS advisor.
