ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Students are invited to an Information Session in Ann Arbor to learn about field-based courses being taught at the University of Michigan Biological Station in northern Michigan during the four-week spring and summer terms in 2026.

They'll also learn about Undergraduate Research Fellowships that include a $5,500 stipend and research mentors.

UMBS is hosting an Information Session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Dana Building Room 1040 on U-M Main Campus.

UMBS staff and alumni will answer questions about the historic field research station nestled along Douglas Lake in Pellston, academic course credits, hands-on research opportunities and the life-changing experience of being immersed in nature.

UMBS welcomes all majors. No prior field experience is required. All students can be considered for UMBS scholarship funding and fellowships, including guest and international students.

This spring term runs May 19 through June 18, 2026, and summer term runs June 30 through July 30, 2026.

The UMBS Course Application will go live in late November. Students interested in receiving notification when the application is available can sign-up on our Courses webpage.
