Our core mission at the U-M Biological Station (UMBS) is to advance environmental field research, engage students in scientific discovery, and provide information needed to understand and sustain ecosystems from local to global scales. In addition to our public events, we also welcome groups year-round who align with and can help us achieve this mission to use UMBS facilities to run their own programs. UMBS facilities are reserved with priority given to the Client’s affiliation with the University, the proposed use, size of the group, type of set-up needed, space available and with consideration given to the order in which requests are made.
Facility use should be requested as far in advance as possible to increase availability and priority. Scheduled events must have a signed contract on file with UMBS by April 1. UMBS facilities may be reserved before, during or after regular academic courses (May-August), on a space-available basis. While in session, regular University academic courses will be granted priority for UMBS facilities use.
You may schedule one major event up to 12 months in advance that will guarantee facility use at a negotiated rate. Only one major event per year per client may be scheduled.
Groups must use the facilities for a minimum of two nights.
