The LSA Transfer Team is here to help with your transfer plans. There are a variety of ways that you can connect with us to ask your questions about transfer credit, choosing the best courses, how courses at your current college will fulfill LSA degree requirements and anything else that you are wondering about. Start by attending a Virtual Transfer Information Session. 

For Michigan community college students, our Transfer Bridges program offers information and support specifically from your school.

Get Started with a Virtual Information Session

Your best first step is to attend a virtual information sessions that includes information on the LSA degree requirements, transfer credit, the admissions process, the power of the liberal arts, and the opportunity to have your questions answered by the LSA Transfer Team. 

Follow Up by Email for Additional Questions

If you have questions after attending an information session, please email us at LSATransferCenter@umich.edu. If your questions are general in nature, please read through the Transfer Credit, Apply and FAQ pages first to see if you questions are answered there. Then if you have questions about your specific situation we are happy to answer them. When you email please include your detailed questions in your email. This helps us support more students through the transfer process. If we think your questions can best be addressed in an individual meeting, we will send you the link to schedule an appointment.

Virtual Student Panels with the LSA Transfer Student Ambassadors

Are you wondering what the real transfer student experience at U-M is like? Looking for advice on the best way to prepare for the academic rigor at U-M? Wondering what the most difficult part of transferring to LSA is? Wondering about the best places to eat, drink, exercise, and relax in Ann Arbor? Join the LSA Transfer Student Ambassadors for informal conversations to learn from their experiences, get your questions answered, and pick up some great advice.

Transfer Events at Community Colleges

Representatives from Undergraduate Admissions and LSA will be on hand at most of the transfer fairs at Michigan community colleges and some out-of-state fairs. 

Members of the LSA Transfer Team will also be visiting each Michigan community college multiple times each semester in addition to the organized transfer fairs. For our visit schedule go to the Transfer Bridges page. Stop by to chat about your plans and learn more about Transfer Bridges.

LSA Transfer Focus Visit Days

Join us on campus to learn more about how you can achieve your educational and professional goals through the LSA liberal arts degree. Each visit day includes a presentation about LSA and the transfer process, a campus tour with the Transfer Student Ambassadors, and ends with an informal Q&A with the Transfer Center staff and Ambassadors. If you would like to add a visit to an academic department to your day, we will connect you with the academic department of your choice to see what you can arrange.

LSA Campus Tours for Transfer Students 

Tired of campus tours designed for high school students? Join the LSA Transfer Student Ambassadors for a central campus tour and to learn all about the transfer student experience. As transfer students, the Ambassadors understand the questions you have and design a tour with the needs of transfer students in mind. These one-hour tours are offered most Fridays at 3:00pm but check the schedule before making plans.

After the tour, staff members from the LSA Transfer Center will be available to answer your questions about transfer credit, financial aid, and applying.

Connect with a Transfer Student Ambassador in the Transfer Student Center

Ambassadors are available at the Transfer Student Center from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday-Friday. You can connect with them by calling the center or if you are on campus, stop by to chat with them and get a tour of campus.

Michigan Community College Students and Military Connected Students Can Join Transfer Bridges 

As a Transfer Bridges student you will receive support to help you develop your academic plan, choose courses to maximize transfer credit, and set your professional goals.  The Transfer Bridges professional advisors and Transfer Student Ambassadors will be there for you every step of the way as you explore transferring to LSA and throughout your time at U-M.

Military connected students (active duty, veterans, National Guard, reserves) can sign up for Transfer Bridges for Military Connected Students and we will contact you to schedule an online advising appointment.

The University of Michigan Admissions has additional advice on what they look for when evaluating transfer students’ transcripts and answers many broad questions about the campus and Ann Arbor, but remember that you apply specifically to the College of LSA.
