The First Generation Gateway is designed to connect first-generation college students to student groups and resources across the University and Ann Arbor area. First-generation students are students who are the first in their families to attend college.
The International Center provides a variety of services to assist international students, scholars, faculty and staff at the University of Michigan, as well as U-M American students seeking opportunities to study, work, or travel abroad.
The Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives (OAMI) collaborates on programs and initiatives that aid students in achieving their academic ambitions while developing the skills and perspectives necessary to succeed in college and beyond. The M-Connect program offers support and mentorship for students who transferred from a Michigan community college, and their SuccessConnects program offers coaching and free tutoring for any student. OAMI also supports the multicultural community at U-M through Student Academic Multicultural Initiatives grants, support for the Dance for Mother Earth Powwow, and cultural graduation celebrations.
The Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA) provides support and programming through celebrations, educational offerings, and building social capital through the lens of race and ethnicity. They host welcome programs for incoming students, sponsor heritage month celebrations, and support individual students through mentorship and other community events.
The Trotter Multicultural Center provides an intentional space for community engagement that promotes intercultural and multicultural engagement, racial healing, and transformative development across all generations and cultures.
Veteran & Military Services provides advocacy and assistance services to military-connected students, including peer mentorship through PAVE.
