About
Benjamin Bolawa (he/him) is a doctoral student in Sociology. His research interests are largely based around understanding the linkages of police, race, and underprivileged urban contexts, tracing the inequities levied onto communities through criminal legal policies and legislation proposed to improve public safety. Specifically, he is currently interested in research centered around how movements for social justice in the realm of law enforcement may elicit prominent institutional shifts (or stagnation) that direct potentially favorable and unfavorable outcomes we see in localities today.
Outside of Sociology Benjamin loves listening to underground hip-hop, weightlifting, longboarding, and going to the beach!
