Student Experience Graduate Intern
About
A liberal arts education is valuable because it applies to every career field. If you are open to it, you will learn so many transferable skills that will allow you to adapt to different spaces. I think the key to being able to use the degree to its full potential is gaining key experiences to support what you learned in the classroom related to the type of job you're interested in!
What advice do you have for students to get the most out of their time in LSA and at U-M?
I would tell students, “closed mouths don’t get fed,” and “don’t be the first person to tell yourself no”. If you can master both of these, you’ll be able to communicate your needs and take advantage of the resources available at the university (like the Opportunity Hub, for example) AND be able to shoot your shot to take advantage of opportunities (or even create your own opportunities) when they come. There is no such thing as imposter syndrome if you're riding your own wave, ready for what's yours!
