Research and Assessment Specialist
About
Dan brings 12 years of experience in program evaluation and expertise in educational policy to his role as Research and Assessment Specialist. Through a lens of culturally responsive evaluation, he is leading work examining the experiences and outcomes of students who come to the Hub, in order to understand how well the services that the Hub provides help students develop their professional identities.
His scholarly work is published in top journals, including a social capital-based analysis of high school advising on college access and structural equation modeling of first-year college experience in Research in Higher Education, an experimental evaluation of first-year experience programming for Pell-eligible students, and meta-analyses on K-12 year-round education in Campbell Systematic Reviews and on social-psychological programming for college students in Educational Research Review, among others. Dan loves his two rescue dogs, reading, board games, and camping/hiking, and so far has visited 13 U.S. National Parks (49 to go!) with his wife.
