Her team helps businesses get online and grow, focusing on sales and operations for this high-growth segment as well as the acquisition of new advertisers and channel partners for Google Ads and YouTube. Mary Ellen also has two decades of experience working in product management, consumer marketing, and brand strategy at agencies like Leo Burnett, St. James Associates, and most notably her role as Principal at McKinsey for their North American consumer marketing portfolio.

Behind the Scenes: the truth of working your way up in the shadows of Hollywood
Join us for a candid conversation with writer Eboni Freeman and producer Skylar Andrews about how they both carved out paths as Black women in the entertainment industry. Together Eboni and Skylar will share the not-so-glamorous aspects of establishing yourself in entertainment, the unspoken rules of Hollywood, and what it’s truly like to be a writer and producer. This is an exclusive opportunity for LSA students to learn from and engage with two established Black women working in entertainment.

Christine brings over ten years of experience leading and impacting various business units at BP. She has a unique story to tell; as an economics and french graduate, she joined BP as a trade development intern. Since then, she’s held a multitude of roles including those in product control, operations, planning, performance management, ethics and compliance, and now commercial development. Christine will be leading a conversation on career opportunities at BP and provide sound advice about diversifying your professional experience over the course of our career.

Julie (Economics ‘90) is the CEO and Co-Founder of PartySlate, a digital platform designed specifically for event professionals--event planners, decor companies, venues, photographers, caterers, entertainers, and more can showcase unlimited photos of their work to reach party hosts actively planning their next events.
Prior to co-founding PartySlate, Julie spent over 20 years at the helm of the world’s leading global marketing agencies as President of North America at Razorfish and SVP General Manager at Agency.com. Before delving into the digital agency world, she helped co-found Chase’s first internet group in 1994, pioneering the bank’s digital transformation and online footprint by establishing it’s first ever website.
Connect with Kiesha Jackson, Founder and Executive Director of Detroit-based Calebe’s Kids
Kiesha Jackson (Sociology ‘05) is the Founder and Executive Director of Caleb’s Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides life-changing outreach to youth, grades 6 - 12, around mental health awareness, suicide prevention, resiliency, coping skills, and self-esteem. She is passionate about mental health education, awareness, and advocacy, specifically as it relates to youth. Kiesha earned a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue University. Join Kiesha and peers for a edifying conversation about nurturing a strong passion for philanthropy and serving others and pursuing a path in community service and social change.
