Congratulations to Linguistics seniors Yicheng Li and Annika Topelian, this year’s recipients of the Matt Alexander Award for outstanding Honors theses in Linguistics.
The Matt Alexander Award is bestowed annually by the faculty of the Linguistics undergraduate committee.
Titles of the winning theses are as follows:
Yicheng Li: Phonetically Gradient and Lexically Diffuse: Ongoing Vowel Mergers in Minjiang Southwestern Mandarin. Supervisor: Andries Coetzee
Annika Topelian: Heritage Language Acquisition and Bilingualism: Western Armenian in the Diaspora. Supervisor: Acrisio Pires
