Sally Thomason in the "Upper Swan Valley Historical Society" newsletter
Sally Thomason has spent every summer over the past several decades doing documentation of Montana Salish, spoken on the Flathead Reservation in the mountains of Montana. In addition to learning much about the language spoken here, Sally has also come to know and understand the history of area very well through years of research and listening to the narratives told by the Salish people. Sally recently penned a short article on the history of the early contact between European settlers and the Salish and Pend d'Oreilles tribes for the news letter of the "Upper Swan Valley Historical Society".
