In lieu of the traditional capstone poster session, undergraduate students in the winter semester of Ling 497 created fun, informal videos on the origin of human language, one of the topics covered in the course.
Each ten-minute video, presented by one to three students, discusses an angle for thinking about language origins—encompassing gesture, laughter, articulation, ideophones, syntax, creoles, and song.
