Michigan alums take top honors in LSA Student Abstract Award
The Linguistic Society of America annually gives awards to the best abstracts submitted by students for their Annual Meeting. For the 2016 Annual Meeting, the top two spots went to undergraduate alums of our Department. Nico Baier (BA 2010, now a graduate student at UC Berkeley) received the first prize for his abstract "Deriving partial anti-agreement" and Andrew Lamont (BA 2011, now a graduate student at Indiana University) received the second prize for is abstract "Implications of a typology of progressive place assimilation".
