Andries Coetzee

We are thrilled to announce that Linguistics Professor Andries Coetzee, has been awarded a Collegiate Professorship from the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). Dr. Coetzee will now hold the prestigious title of Judith T. Irvine Collegiate Professor of Linguistics, named in honor of Professor Judith Irvine, a distinguished UM Linguistic Anthropologist known for her significant contributions to African linguistic anthropology. This recognition is one of the college's highest honors, and it reflects a sustained record of excellence in research, scholarship, teaching, and service, as well as overall contributions to the university community.
