Your Support for U-M Linguistics
Your generous contribution to Linguistics on #GivingBlueday plays a crucial role in supporting students and researchers in our mission to explore the cognitive, social, computational, developmental and cultural dimensions of language. Your gift creates opportunities for students to participate in experiential learning and groundbreaking research, enriching their understanding of language in multifaceted ways.
We are pleased to share that we have a matching 3:1 gift from Julian Catford, up to $20,000 for Giving Blue Day 2026, in support of our Linguistics Strategic Fund. By increasing our department resources to attract and maintain outstanding faculty, we continue to develop a student-centered curriculum that is expanding opportunities for all liberal arts students to be exposed to linguistics, and gain a broad understanding of the role of language as a prominent domain of cognition with a central role in society and human interaction.
