Join us for Camp Kelsey, a summer program at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology designed for elementary and middle school students. Guided by the museum’s expert educators, campers take part in lively learning experiences that focus on archaeology and the cultures of the ancient Mediterranean, North Africa, and Middle East.
Your camper will engage with Kelsey faculty and staff, learn about the field of archaeology, and take part in hands-on creative activities. Don’t miss out on a summer of exploration, imagination, and new friendships!
2026 Sessions
Get to know the people of the ancient Mediterranean, North Africa, and Middle East this summer at our Ancient Cultures Camp. Here, campers will get a crash course on the history of Egypt, Greece, and Rome, as well as an in-depth view of how archaeology allows us to reconstruct the lives and events of the past. Each weeklong session culminates with a celebration of all we have learned and created.
The elementary-age camp will provide an accessible introduction to these ancient cultures, complete with lots of crafts, games, and archaeological adventures! The middle school camp will take a deeper dive into these societies—exploring their innovations and legacies.

Past Camp Kelsey Sessions
In 2025, the Kelsey held two camps for middle schoolers—one focused on the Percy Jackson series and the ancient stories that inspired it, and the other centered around learning what it takes to be an archaeologist.
