Camp Kelsey

Exhibition curated by students at the archaeology-themed Camp Kelsey session, 2025.

About the Program

Embark on an unforgettable journey at Camp Kelsey, a summer program designed for elementary and middle school students at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology. Guided by the museum’s expert educators, campers take part in lively learning experiences including behind-the-scenes tours of the Kelsey, field trips around Ann Arbor, conversations with U-M faculty and staff, hands-on creative projects, and more.

Each themed, weeklong session allows participants to dive into such topics as culture, history, myth, and archaeology. Join us for a summer of exploration, imagination, and new friendships!

Registration for the 2026 sessions will soon open. Watch this page for details!

Past Camp Kelsey Sessions

In 2025, the Kelsey held two camps for middle schoolers—one focused on the Percy Jackson series and the ancient stories that inspired it, and the other centered around learning what it takes to be an archaeologist.
