The Kelsey Museum serves the international academic community, the University of Michigan, and the public through research, conservation, and exhibition of its collections. As part of this aim, we welcome researchers to study our artifact, photographic, and archival collections.
Information and digital media for many of our objects and photographs are available in our online catalog.
Getting Started
If you are interested in conducting in-depth research on Kelsey materials, we encourage you to reach out and reserve an on-site session with staff in our Collections Department.
Please complete and send the Collections Access Form to kelsey.registry@umich.edu, making sure to include information about any particular objects or collections you are interested in studying and your preferred visit dates. Our calendar fills up quickly, so we require 8–12 weeks of advance notice to properly prepare the materials you plan to examine.
Campus Research Resources
In addition to the collections at the Kelsey Museum, the University of Michigan offers a wide array of other resources that support teaching and scholarship on our collections and the ancient world.
