Alaina Perez

After teaching in public school classrooms for the past decade, I've had the opportunity to engage with a variety of student groups, including middle and high school students, college writers, and student teachers. I earned my BA in English from Michigan State University and an MA in English from Oakland University, where I also held a Graduate Assistantship. Some of my research interests include teacher advocacy and wellness, literacy pedagogy and curricular design, professional learning and development, and teacher attrition and retention issues. I have two cats named Julian and Momo, who are both the glory and bane of my existence.
