Dibyangee is interested in questions of place-making, vernacular modernity, and the life of a city — as a political and literary project. She grew up in Kolkata, India, and is fascinated by postocolonial narratives of urbanism. Before coming to Michigan, she studied English Literature at Jadavpur University, and taught "Introduction to Critical Thinking" at Ashoka University.
