Ally Bergman

Ally Bergman (she/her) is a first year Ph.D. student in English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan. Ally integrates her experiences as a social worker in supportive and affordable housing communities with her work in prison education to study poetics and experimental writing. Her questions revolve around the social, spatial, and languaged dimensions of making oneself legible, particularly in carceral and unsheltered spaces. Ally is also interested in writing pedagogy and alternative models of higher education.
