Dien Luong's research examines the intersection of geopolitics, social media, online censorship, and Big Tech–government relations, with a particular focus on the evolving media and information landscape in Southeast Asia. He has published scholarly work, policy briefs, and commentaries on these themes across leading academic and media platforms. Dien earned his master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University on a Fulbright Scholarship and has held other fellowships at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute in Singapore, the University of Pennsylvania, the Harvard Kennedy School, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
