CREES is affiliated with the Center for Armenian Studies (CAS) at the University of Michigan, which was established in 1981 with the endowment of the Alex Manoogian Chair in Modern Armenian History. In 1987 a second endowed chair was established, the Marie Manoogian Chair in Armenian Language and Literature. CAS offers graduate student, post-doctoral, pre-doctoral, and visiting scholar fellowships; graduate and undergraduate student research support; specialized symposia, workshops, and conferences; and outreach programs. CREES and CAS frequently collaborate on programs including public lectures. The Department of Middle East Studies offers an undergraduate major in Armenian studies; PhD degrees are offered through various departments. Students enrolled in the MIRS-REEES program can choose to focus their studies on Armenia.
Please visit the CAS website for more information about affiliated faculty, public events, and academic resources.
