For Incoming MIRS-REEES Students

Applicants to the Masters in International and Regional Studies (MIRS) - REEES specialization will be considered for the following awards. A separate application is not necessary. There is no citizenship restriction. Awardees will be notified by April.

CREES Incoming Student Award
The Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREES) Incoming Student Award provides support for tuition and fees from $10,000 - $20,000 for an outstanding incoming MIRS-REEES student.

Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia (WCEE) Master’s Fellowship
The WCEE Master’s Fellowship will be awarded to an outstanding incoming MIRS-REEES student. The award covers two years of tuition and health care, in addition to a $30,000 stipend for each year.

Stefan Augustyniak Fellowship in Polish Studies
The Stefan Augustyniak Fellowship in Polish Studies provides support for tuition and fees from $10,000 - $20,000 to excellent MIRS students engaging in research and training in Polish studies at the University of Michigan. The award is provided by the Copernicus Center for Polish Studies (CCPS). Current MIRS-REEES students are also eligible for the fellowship but must submit an application.

Armenian Studies Fellowships
The Center for Armenian Studies (CAS) offers Armenian Studies Fellowships to incoming graduate students who expect to focus their graduate studies on themes relevant to Armenian studies. CAS expects its fellows to participate in the center’s organized and sponsored activities, such as lectures, community events, symposia, workshops, and conferences.

The federal government cancelled funding for FLAS. This application will not be open for the foreseeable future.
