Statistics and Data Science

The Statistics Department encourages students to pursue opportunities abroad. As an LSA Student, an excellent range of international options, including cultural immersion, summer fieldwork, intensive language training, and independent study programs, are available to you!

Can I fulfill my major requirements abroad?
While it may be possible to fulfill some major requirements while abroad, it is not guaranteed that you will be able to do so. Therefore, it is recommended that you meet with a Statistics Department Advisor to develop a graduation plan that will allow you to complete your degree within your desired time frame.

Process for approval:
You can check this site to see some existing transfer equivalencies for foreign institutions. If there is not an existing equivalency for a particular course you wish to take, you can submit a request to have a course evaluated as STATS or DATASCI using this link. For unevaluated EECS courses, please contact the CSE Department.

Questions? Please schedule an appointment with a Statistics Department Advisor to discuss how your study abroad courses could potentially be used in your major or minor.

Funding opportunities: The LSA Study Abroad Scholarship is available to all eligible LSA students. Financial aid and scholarships are also available for many programs!
