About
I’m a second year peer facilitator for UROP! I’m a public health sciences major on the pre-medical track from Ferndale, MI. I love UROP because it fosters such growth and amazing opportunities for students. As a UROP, Research Scholars, and Summer UROP Biomedical Research Fellow alum, I have learned so much about research and myself. I also have gotten the opportunity to work with my amazing mentors and even travel to present my work. My research is focused on fungal immunology, and has furthered my interest in infectious diseases. Because of my experiences in UROP, I now hope to pursue research as a part of my career, in addition to medicine. Outside of research and the classroom, I enjoy running, traveling, and being outdoors.
This summer, I had the privilege to study abroad in Ireland! I’m very proud to be involved in an organization like UROP that connects students with such a variety of amazing opportunities for empowerment and learning via research. Seeing the growth and confidence from students is so rewarding, and I can’t say enough how positively UROP has impacted my undergraduate experience. I hope to help foster this same growth in my students, and see where their research journey takes them.
