U-M graduate students Zhaneta Gjyshja and Jhon Cruz Quiñones both participated in the World Neolithic Congress 2024, which was held from November 4 to 8, 2024, in Şanlıurfa, Türkiye.
Zhaneta presented her dissertation work on a Late Neolithic site in Kosova, while John presented his work on the highlands of Peru.
Part of the congress included site visits to some of the oldest Neolithic sites, such as Göbeklitepe, Sefertepe, and Karahantepe. See below for a view of one of the Göbeklitepe structures, and a view of one of the Karahantepe structures (with canopy). Photos by Zhaneta Gjyshja.
