Recently Brian Stewart, curator of African archaeology at UMMAA, was featured on the podcast "Michigan Minds." He talked about his archaeological research in Lesotho, the bounty of rock art there, and why the area is critical to understanding the development of Homo sapiens. The mountainous country is beautiful, Stewart explained, but very poor, and the Trump administration’s recent cuts to aid and the imposition of 50% tariffs will cause significant damage to the small African nation.
