Heritage Seeds
This spring, Dr. Lisa Young and graduate student Elspeth Geiger helped organize a conference on seeds and plant samples from the UMMAA ethnobotanical collections.
At the conference, which was hosted by the U-M Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum (UMMBGNA), tribal representatives, researchers, and others talked about the significance of the heritage seeds and how to use the collections to promote sustainability.
