Kara Larson, archaeology PhD student at U-M, is lead author of a recent article in Archaeometry on medieval herd management in Kazakhstan. The article, "Provisioning a Silk Road City: Herd Management Strategies at the Urban Site of Dzhankent, Kazakhstan," shares the results of carbon and oxygen isotope analyses of sheep teeth. Co-authors include UMMAA curator Alicia Ventesca-Miller, UMMAA research affiliate Ashleigh Haruda, and U-M alum Iride Tomažič. Congratulations, all!
