Congratulations to UMMAA curator Alicia Ventresca-Miller! Her book Domesticated has been published open access by Oxford University Press.

This book reflects on the ways that domesticated species transformed societies in eras preceding the Silk Roads. This book situates north-central Asia as a vital locale for the study of the adoption of domesticated species, including livestock and cultivated grains. The collective chapters trace varied routes towards alternative forms of complexity in a region where livestock were an economic mainstay long before the adoption of cultivated grains.

Congratulations, Alicia!!
