On Thursday, April 17, 5:30-7:30 pm, leaders of the upcoming Klinsky Expeditions will speak in the Hussey Room at the Michigan League about their projects.

Last December, businessman and U-M alum Steve Klinsky gifted $1.15 million to the University of Michigan’s Kelsey Museum of Archaeology and Museum of Anthropological Archaeology. The goal? To establish a series of archaeological digs drawn from the groundbreaking research that U-M faculty and students are conducting around the world, as well as to create new educational programming for K–12 audiences based around these projects.

At this presentation and panel discussion, you will hear from LSA faculty members who lead the five Klinsky-funded expeditions: Geoff Emberling, Bryan Miller, John O’Shea, Brian Stewart, and David Stone. They’ll discuss their projects’ backgrounds, their proposed goals for the upcoming field season and academic year, and why their work matters. (Read more about the Klinsky gift and the expedition projects here: https://lsa.umich.edu/kelsey/news-events/all-news/search-news/klinsky-gift.html.)

This event is free and open to the public. Cocktails and light fare will be served from 5:30 to 6:15 pm, followed by the lecture.
