Information Session for Prospective Students

Learn About Living and Learning at the Field Station in Northern Michigan

Students are invited to an Information Session on Zoom to learn about the courses being taught at the University of Michigan Biological Station in northern Michigan during the four-week spring and summer terms in 2025.

UMBS welcomes all majors and minors. No prior field experience is required. UMBS staff and alumni will answer questions about living and learning at the field station as well as course credits, scholarships, research opportunities and their experiences immersed in nature.

All students can be considered for UMBS scholarship funding, including guest and international students.

The 11,000-acre research and teaching campus is located along Douglas Lake, 20 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge.

The U-M Biological Station in Pellston is one of the nation’s largest and longest continuously operating field research stations.
