The Transfer Bridges to Michigan program is an opportunity for Monroe students who are interested in transferring to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan (U-M). Through this unique program, U-M professionals will keep you current with the most updated information to help you successfully prepare and submit your transfer application.
Through individual advising conversations, online resources, and workshops, your Transfer Bridges advisor will help you develop your academic plan, choose courses to maximize transfer credit, and set your professional goals.
As a member of the Transfer Bridges program you can choose to be matched with one of our Transfer Student Ambassadors as a mentor. They will help guide you through the exploration and application process while providing the student perspective on what it is like to be a U-M student transferring from a Michigan community college.
Do you have questions about specific majors, research, graduate school, or just academic planning in general? Transfer Bridges students can meet directly with faculty and staff in academic departments to explore their interests, even before they are admitted to U-M.
optiMize
optiMize moMentum is for students who are currently enrolled at a Michigan community college. optiMize aMplify is for current students at Michigan that previously transferred in. Both are led by U-M students who recently transferred, and both connect you with some of Michigan's most valuable resources.
The moMentum fellowship gives you the opportunity to spend two days exploring the University of Michigan—either in Ann Arbor or at a site closer to you—exploring everything that U-M has to offer in the way of resources, social innovation, and entrepreneurial skills. Plus you will meet a lot of amazing fellow community college students and receive a $500 stipend for participating.
Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)
Engages students in research and creative inquiry by providing opportunities to work on research and creative projects with U-M researchers and community partners in all academic disciplines. UROP offers three summer research fellowship programs for community college students that you can apply to.
Attend an Event at the LSA Transfer Student Center
Transfer Bridges students are welcome to attend any event taking place in the LSA Transfer Student Center. Check our calendar and make your plans. Let us know you are coming and we will roll out the red carpet for you! Well, we will at least help plan your visit, if you want to combine things like a campus tour with attending an event.
