Waitlist Policy

When a course becomes fully enrolled, a waitlist is created and students attempting to register for a particular course will be placed on the waitlist.  By careful management of enrollments, the Department of Mathematics makes every effort to accommodate students registering for Math 105, 115, 116, 215, and 216.  Please see department staff for assistance in registering for a section of Math 105, 115, 116, 215, and 216 if they appear temporarily closed.

In general, waitlisted students in Mathematics courses numbered 300 and above receive priority for permissions based on:

  1. Whether they are declared Mathematics majors
  2. How close they are to graduation
  3. When they joined the waitlist

Please note that particular courses or sections may have different or additional criteria for overrides; these are posted as "Notes" on Wolverine Access.

Math 105/115/116 Waitlist Information for the Fall 2024 Term:

It is recommended that you enroll in any section that fits your schedule as registration is restricted throughout the registration period. If you do not see space available in a section that fits your schedule, we recommend that you check the LSA Course Guide regularly as space will continue to open up throughout the registration period.  Waitlist requests will not be entertained until all sections of a course are full.  The Fall 2024 manual Waitlist form is not available at this time.

Please Note: When you are issued an override, you are removed from the manual waitlist. Please formally register via Wolverine Access as soon as you receive an override notification (sample email subject line: Class Permission: Fall 2024, MATH 116, Section 080, Class Number 30569).
