Sergey Fomin

My main research area is combinatorics, especially its applications in algebra, geometry, and other areas of mathematics. Much of my research over the past decade was related to cluster algebras, a class of commutative rings endowed with a rich combinatorial structure. Other research projects concern combinatorial approaches to incidence geometry, distance geometry, and the study of real algebraic curves.
