Research interests

Research in my lab is focused on the dynamics of ecological, epidemiological, and evolutionary systems. We develop and use sophisticated, model-based methods to understand biological systems, analyze data, and make predictions.  Our research foci include:

1. the dynamics of host-pathogen systems including pertussis, dengue, cholera, measles, malaria, and trematodes,
2. the dynamics of parasite infections within individual hosts,
3. methods for assimilating genomic and epidemiologic data with models of pathogen transmission,
4. the transmission and evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections in hospitals, and
5. statistical inference methods for ecological, epidemiological, and immunological systems.
