Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) is committed to making LSA an inclusive, equitable, and collaborative space to learn, teach, work, discover, and thrive together.

Enhancing and embracing our differences is essential to achieving our shared goals of producing groundbreaking research, providing a world-class liberal arts education, and making a positive impact on our diverse society.

The University of Michigan has a multitude of resources, community and network groups aimed at creating a welcoming campus environment for graduate students.

  • CEW+ empowers women and underserved individuals in the University of Michigan and surrounding communities by serving as an advocate and providing resources to help them reach their academic, financial, and professional potential.
  • The Office of Multi-Ethnic and Student Affairs (MESA) strives to promote student development and empower the campus community around issues of diversity and social justice through the lens of race and ethnicity.
  • The Spectrum Center at University of Michigan is a collaborative space in which all members of the university and local community are welcome. The center works toward enhancing the campus climate and support services for LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty at the university through education, advocacy, and community building.

The Rackham Graduate School supports a number of student community and network groups, including Graduate Students with Children and Students of Color of Rackham (SCOR).
