In December 2024, Andries Coetzee led a workshop on academic publication, hosted by the Linguistic Society of Japan at the International Christian University, Tokyo. The workshop provided junior scholars and graduate students with hands-on guidance in preparing their research for journal submission.
As part of the event, Coetzee delivered the keynote presentation, titled "Writing for Publication: Academic Writing as an Intellectual Conversation." His talk emphasized academic writing as a collaborative and community-driven process, offering insights into engaging with scholarly discourse. Held on December 21–22, the workshop fostered meaningful discussions and one-on-one mentoring sessions, equipping participants with the tools to navigate the publication process effectively.
