Undergraduate Intern in Conservation - Museum Studies
About
Hope Siwek is a third-year undergraduate at the University of Michigan. She is a double major in anthropology (archaeology sub-major) and psychology, minoring in museum studies. Some of her research interests include archaeological conservation methods and the ethics of museum curation and management. This winter semester, she is interning at the Kelsey Conservation Lab to learn about archaeological conservation in a museum setting, and she will be helping the department with a variety of different tasks. One project she is especially excited to be working on is the surveying and treating of damaged Roman bricks in the collection. Outside of academics, she is on the E-board of the Archaeology Club and the Student Film and Video Association, and she volunteers with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center. She enjoys crochet and baking, as well as watching movies and shows with friends and family.
