About
Alexandra Tiesma is a senior at the University of Michigan, double majoring in anthropological archaeology and history of art, with a double minor in museum studies and Dutch studies. Her academic interests include exploring interdisciplinary research and theory between anthropological archaeology and ancient art history; methodologies for engaging the general public in archaeological research; and investigating how digital media and video games can positively contribute to general public understanding and enjoyment of historical time periods, cultures, and languages across time and space. Outside of school, Alexandra is a member of the Inter-Cooperative Council of Ann Arbor (ICC), a non-profit affordable student housing cooperative in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her hobbies include painting, yoga, and playing video games. At the Kelsey, Alexandra is an administrative intern. She is excited to learn all about how museums work, operate, and engage with the general public, helping to form lasting connections between institutions of research and the broader community.
