About
Heidi Hilliker recently earned her PhD in Egyptology from the Department of Middle East Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on ancient Egyptian textile production, especially the people who made linen cloth and the communities, skills, and daily experiences behind their work.
Alongside her research, Heidi has years of museum experience in collections study, education, public programming, and interpretation, including work with the Skirball Cultural Center and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She is especially interested in using museum collections to tell human-centered stories about the past. This summer, she will serve as interim collections manager at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology.
