About
Lucy Kates is a Graduate Student Instructor in the writing clinic. She is pursuing a dual law degree and Master of Social Work. Her research interests focus on the intersection of mental health and the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
She has a BA from the University of Oklahoma in Letters and Religious Studies, where she worked as a writing tutor in the Honors College Writing Center. She also has experience tutoring recent immigrants in reading, writing, and speaking English.
