Since Joan's emeritus status she has been traveling the world over.
Joan has been a leader in ESL for decades and has authored numerous books and articles about pronunciation pedagogy and theory. She is a past president of TESOL and continues to be active professionally in many capacities.
Her approach has always been student-centered and practical.
