The 2025 Greek State Literary Prize (Honorary Distinction) was awarded to the Journal of Modern Greek Studies
Congratulations, Professor Artemis Leontis!!
Professor Artemis Leontis
The 2025 Greek State Literary Prize (Honorary Distinction) was awarded to the Journal of Modern Greek Studies by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture’s Literary Awards Committee, in its annual ceremony on Wednesday, June 3.
"It was my honor to receive the award at the annual State Literary Prize Ceremony in Athens on Wednesday, In my statement upon receiving the award, I noted that it belongs to the editors and editorial teams (associate editors, book review editors, editorial boards), authors, reviewers, and publisher (Johns Hopkins University Press) who have produced two issues per year (87, going on 88) without fail since 1983, and to the MGSA leadership for its vision and support. My own service has been as Associate Editor (1999-2006), Editorial Board (2006-2010), Co-Editor (2013-2019, and Editor (2024-April 2027)."
