About
Ryan grew up and studied in Louisiana. There, he earned his BA in Classics from Tulane University in 2015 with a thesis examining some of the elegiac poems of Ovid and Propertius. He then returned to his alma mater high school where he taught Latin and Theology for two years. He had the opportunity to work with students not only in the classroom but also through various extracurriculars and clubs—drama, quiz bowl, choir, video games, etc.Currently, Ryan’s interests include Roman poetry (specifically elegy), Greek poetry, narrative, intertextuality, and linguistics. Outside of his academic life, he plays piano and is an avid fan of Jeopardy! and trivia in general.
