The Interdepartmental Program in Ancient Mediterranean Art and Archaeology (IPAMAA) offers a course of doctoral study in the arts and material culture of the ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern worlds. Formally sponsored by the Departments of Classical Studies and History of Art, and located in the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, IPCAA draws on a distinguished range of faculty in several disciplines and on the rich museum and library resources of the University of Michigan. With its self-consciously interdisciplinary character, IPCAA is today widely acknowledged as among the very top programs in the country for the professional training of graduate students in Classical Archaeology.
