The Classical Studies department welcomes Professor Edward Watts, the Vassiliadis Endowed Chair and Distinguished Professor of History at UC San Diego, as the 2026 Jerome lecturer.
Brendan Haug has been awarded the 2025 American Society of Papyrologists Book Prize for The Garden of Egypt: Irrigation, Society, and the State in the Premodern Fayyūm, which was published by the University of Michigan Press, 2024.
