Ph.D. in Classical Studies
About
Christine received her B.A. in Religious Studies and Classics from the University of Arizona and her M.A. in Comparative Literatures with a Classics concentration as well as a certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of New Mexico. Her Master’s thesis, Reinventing Maternity in Chariton’s Callirhoe, examined the role of Callirhoe as the wife/mother compared to earlier representations of this role. Her interests include, but are not limited to, the Greek and Roman novels, ancient representation and evolution of family, gender studies, and classical reception. Outside of Classics, Christine enjoys spending as much time as she can with her cat, Orpheus, watching true crime documentaries, and adding to her ever growing to-be-read pile.
