Gradescope Bubble Sheets offer a modern alternative to traditional Scantron exams. This digital assignment type allows instructors to create multiple-choice answer keys that are automatically graded, saving time and reducing errors. With support for up to 200 questions, Bubble Sheets are a flexible solution for assessments of any size. Faculty can access their Gradescope course dashboard directly within Canvas to set up and manage assignments.
Instructors can download the blank Bubble Sheet PDF from Gradescope and print from their department printer or send to a U-M copy center. We recommend printing the Bubble Sheets on high-quality paper to ensure consistency.

See our LSA Instructor Guide for a simplified workflow.
The Shared Services Center Scanning Office can manage scanning hundreds of Bubble Sheets. Instructors who are planning to use Scanning Office services are asked to fill out the Scanning Schedule form with dates for their midterm and final exams. The form is sent to department administrators at the beginning of Fall and Winter semesters. The Scanning Office will then create Google folders with the scanned files, and the instructor who submitted the form will be added to those folders.
When you send in your Bubble Sheets to the Shared Service Center Scanning Office, include the LSA Scanning Cover Sheet with each box of Bubble Sheets. Please remember, it can take up to three days for the scanning to be complete.
We can help you get started with Bubble Sheets! Submit this consultation form and we will schedule a one-on-one meeting with you. You can also email us at LSATechnologyServices@umich.edu or call 745.615.0100
