LSA juniors and seniors interested in preparing themselves for post-college goals—whether full-time jobs, grad school, a gap year, or other pursuits—are encouraged to explore ALA 325: Putting Your Education To Work.

This one-credit Applied Liberal Arts course is offered during the second half of fall semester and is structured so that students prioritize and progress toward individual goals. Sessions include creating a search strategy for jobs, mentors, and funding, as well as producing application materials, among other projects.

At the heart of ALA 325 is developing fluency in articulating the value of the LSA degree. At the end of the course, students will be able to articulate nuanced answers to the question, “How has your college experience prepared you for your career?”

Seniors can register for the course in Wolverine Access, while juniors should contact millspaj@umich.edu for an override.

Students should register for the course by Monday, Sept. 9.
